Do you ever wonder if artists ever forget the lyrics to their songs in the middle of a show? The “Chicago Tribune” asked TIM MCGRAW that question . . . and his answer is yes. He said, quote, “I forget something just about every night.” He also revealed a trick he uses to hide it from the audience. Quote, “I just hold the microphone out and everybody else can sing along.” What’s interesting is that he remembers the lyrics better when he’s on auto-pilot. Quote, “If I’m on stage performing and I’m thinking ‘Okay, Maggie’s got to cheer at a football game tomorrow, Audrey’s got a volleyball game, we’re going on vacation.
“Or [I’m] thinking about how that person in the crowd is having a good time, I don’t forget the lyrics.” Oddly, the worse thing is when he tries to remember what he’s supposed to be singing. Quote, “If I think about the song and start thinking about what the next verse is, that’s when I forget it.”
