Marion — Tina Morrow is set to become the assistant Chief of the Marion Police Department after being chosen at a Commissioner’s meeting last night. According to a report from WSIL, the position opened with the announced retirement of Dan Byrne. Morrow has been a part of the Marion Police Department for 19 years, working first as a dispatcher and later as a full time officer. Chief Dawn Tondini said Morrow was the primary choice to fill the position. The move becomes official on Saturday.
