John A. Logan College President Stepping Aside Temporarily After Being Passed Over for Kansas Job

Carterville — John A. Logan College President Mike Dreith is staying at the Carterville College after being passed over for a position at a Kansas college. According to a report from the Southern, Dreith, who applied for the Presidency at Dodge City Community College was a finalist for the position, but the school announced Monday that they had chosen another candidate. Dreith made headlines earlier this month when it was reported that he had told a forum during his visit to the Kansas college that taking the job at John A. Logan was the “worst mistake” he’d ever made in reference to the state’s budget issues complicating his job. Dreith has currently given up day-to-day operations at the school after the Board of Trustees voiced concern over his recent actions.
