Democrats Planning to Hold Strong Despite Gov. Rauner’s Warnings

Chicago — After Governor Bruce Rauner stated that “time was up” for democratic lawmakers to get on board with his plans, one of the state’s top Democrats is saying that they aren’t going to fold. House Majority Leader Barbara Flynn Currie said today that Democrats refuse to go along with what they believe is Governor Rauner’s demands to weaken the power of public worker unions as a condition of a budget agreement. She says Rauner should drop his attack on the middle class before the state goes broke.
