CHARLES KELLEY dropped a surprise the other day when he released a song called “The Driver”. Everyone immediately went nuts wondering if that meant LADY ANTEBELLUM is breaking up. Well, they’re not.
He made it very clear during a private show he did on Wednesday in Nashville. He said, quote, “I wouldn’t have done this without HILLARY [SCOTT] and DAVE [HAYWOOD] giving me their blessing. Lady Antebellum will always be my focus.”
And just to make sure, he drove it home it again: Quote, “Lady Antebellum will never [effing] break up, mark my words.” Another reason to believe him is that Hillary and Dave were actually in the crowd cheering him on. So there’s that.
Charles also talked about why he needed to do the solo thing in the first place. Quote, “I wanted to step outside of my comfort zone. It was so much fun to make music without any agenda, without any pressure. It felt like the beginning.”
“The Driver” is the first single from his solo album. No word when that’ll be out.
