World Shooting Complex in Sparta Closes Today

The Sparta World Shooting Complex, which brings millions of dollars to Randolph County annually is set to close today due to the state’s current budget impasse. The closure comes as part of Governor Bruce Rauner’s statewide plan to cut around 420-million dollars off of the state budget in an attempt to close a 4-billion dollar spending excess. The restaurant, shops and waterways at the facility will remain open to the public.¬†However, the world’s largest Trap Shooting event, “the Grand American,” will likely move if the facility doesn’t re-open in the near future.
