New State Law Takes The Air Out of “Golden Parachute” Severance Packages For Community College Presidents

A new state law won’t allow community college presidents to get so-called golden-parachute severance packages anymore. The bill signed by Governor Rauner yesterday was in response to the continuing dispute over a large buyout deal given to College of DuPage President Robert Breuder. The law bans severance packages worth more than a year’s salary and benefits.
