Perry County Teens Facing Federal Charges in Molotov Cocktail Case

Two Perry County teens are facing federal weapons charges after throwing Molotov cocktails at police vehicles in early August. According to a report from the US Attorney for Southern Illinois, both Samuel Dunston and Freedom Davis are being charged with “knowingly possessing an improvised explosive incendiary device” after throwing the explosives at the vehicles of off-duty officers in Du Quoin on August 5th.  The teens had originally been charged by the state, but those charges were dropped in favor of federal charges.
