Missing Plane Found in Shawnee National Forest

Federal aviation investigators are on the scene of a plane crash that happened late Sunday night in Pope County. Illinois State Police along with the Pope County Sheriff’s Office and other emergency personnel spent much of the day Monday looking for the plane in the Shawnee National Forest. They found it just after 6:30 Monday evening. There were no survivors. Reports say the plane left Marion, Kentucky Sunday night and was heading to the Marion, IL airport. Names of the victims are not being released until family members are notified.
