Bids are now being accepted

Bids are now being accepted from contracting companies to begin repairing the levee in Grand Tower. The levee, which broke in 2013, is over 70-years-old and in desperate need of repairs. Grand Tower Mayor Mike Ellet says that the structure was built to have a 50-year life span, and that that 50-years ended in 1997. Bids for contractors will be taken until June 29th, and city leaders hope to have much of the work on this portion of the project completed by Fall.
