During a conversation with MTV, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson said that DC comics Shazam could arrive before 2019. “It may happen a little earlier than what has been predicted. The script is coming in, it’s great, the support from the studio has been great. It’s just a great opportunity, especially with Black Adam where you can take a guy who starts off as a bad guy, turns into an anti-hero, we can make him vicious, a little bit of winking charm.”
Shazam is based on the DC Comic that follows teenage Billy Batson, who transforms into Captain Marvel when he uses the word Shazam. It really isn’t as cheesy as it sounds. The Rock will play Black Adam in the film that is still looking for their Captain Marvel. It is currently set to release April 5, 2019, just one month before the final installment of the Avengers trilogy.
