Wes has been in radio now for more than 34 years and still loves the difference it can make in lives.
Wes has worked (and still works with) many charitable organizations, groups, and causes.
He’s a native of Southern Illinois… with roots here for generations… and one of 8 siblings as well.
SIU-Carbondale is (my/his) Alma Mater as well as FCHS in West Frankfort.
Son of the late M. Earl Bennett and the late Barbara and Charles Henson.
Spouse: Dana (Herring) Bennett who is the love of my life…
Children: Kyle and his lovely wife Rachel, Kailyn and her husband Matt, and Kristin and her fiance (October wedding) Collin…
Grand Children: Ms Allaina who attends school in Carterville, IL
and Ms Matti who is attending the school of life at 2yrs old…
Wes is a “Cherokee/Scotch/Irish” blend… and enjoys travel with his family and “lovely wife, Ms Dana”. Comes from a military family that has served the United States with honor and distinction for generations. Wes also is a (terminal) student and teacher of the Martial Arts, having studied for many years with numerous exclusive teaching certifications.
He has fought both amateur and professionally and was nominated for the Martial Arts Hall of Fame 2013 and 2014. Wes is also a professional photographer who’s been published in several magazines and websites both locally and internationally.
Wes strives to be better each day- while encouraging others to do the same… but says “don’t follow me, I am lost, but we can all make it together with the Good Lord’s help”.
