Cole Trane

Cole Trane

Raised in a small Southeast Missouri Town, Cole Trane wanted to be a doctor growing up.  Later in life he found out it was too much schooling so he wasn’t sure what his future held.  Having a friend that worked at a local radio station, Cole spent a lot of time hanging out at the station.  When his friend went to college and the ownership needed someone they could get quick and cheap, they asked Cole if he would like to become the next “Big Thing”.  Little did he know he would always work cheap and never be big…except in weight maybe.  So with that said, he agreed.  That was the start of his radio career that would take him to other stations in Southeast Missouri, Springfield, MO and Murray, Ky.

With a pulse on Country music and the lifestyle to boot (no pun intended) Cole became Program director of a couple of the stations.  After leaving radio to sell tools at a chain tool store, Cole was approached to take over the helm as Operations Manager for five stations in Southern Illinois.  With much consideration, he agreed, and that is what led him to Withers Broadcasting of Southern Illinois.

A down to earth guy who loves Country music, his dog, his wife and kids, a huge fan of his grand kids, and the St. Louis Cardinals, Cole brings a laid back attitude to the afternoons on W3D, appropriately called the Afternoon Trane Wreck.

Join him weekdays from 3:00PM to 7:00PM for Country Dirt, Country music, giveaways and more fun than allowed by law (he has a connection to law enforcement, so that keeps him out of jail, usually.).
